Academy360 bids a fond farewell this month to Nurse Connie Kilroy, who is leaving us for a new adventure after ten years of service.
Connie came to Academy360 as a substitute nurse before joining staff and was promoted to nursing department manager this year. Her leadership skills played a massive part in helping school administrators navigate the unknowns of the COVID-19 pandemic — both during remote learning and upon the return of the students to campus.
Her dedication to the health and safety of our students and staff made her a force to be reckoned with in creating and implementing the policies designed to keep everyone safe.
In the whirlwind of school nursing, Connie has always exemplified the “Do – there is no try” spirit. Whether responding to emergencies, instructing students in self care, helping train staff in emergency procedures, keeping track of everyone’s vital information and much more, Connie once said in 2018, “I think of every day as a surprise party – you never know what’s going to happen, so you have to be prepared for anything that comes your way!”
In addition to taking such great care of everyone in her charge, Connie also shared her deep love of Star Wars with all who knew her. Connie’s enthusiasm for the May 4th holiday and all things Jedi will be missed. But we have a good feeling about this: thank you for all that you’ve done for Academy360, Connie, and may the force be with you!
