Livingston, NJ – Spectrum360 | Academy360 is thrilled to announce that Leanne Hesse, our esteemed Transition Coordinator, has been honored with the prestigious New Jersey Association of People Supporting Employment (NJAPSE) Transition Educator of the Year award. This statewide recognition is bestowed upon a single educator in New Jersey for their exceptional professional achievements in facilitating the transition from secondary education to the workforce. The award ceremony is scheduled to take place at the Facing the Future 2023 Conference, held at the Hyatt Regency in New Brunswick, NJ, on Friday, October 13, 2023.

The Transition Educator of the Year award serves as a testament to Leanne Hesse’s unwavering dedication to student success during crucial transitional phases. Leanne’s invaluable contributions have greatly enhanced our Academy360 Young Adult Transition programs, introducing innovative community-based work experiences for our students. Her strategic collaborations with local businesses and organizations have unlocked a wealth of diverse employment opportunities, closely aligned with our students’ skills and interests.

Furthermore, Leanne plays an integral role in shaping the future of our students by significantly contributing to the development of their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and long-term goal planning. Her extensive expertise and keen insights play a pivotal role in crafting tailored plans that address the unique needs of each student.

Leanne also offers unwavering support in preparing our students for the workforce, including practice interviews, job interviews and funding interviews mandated by the Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD). Her mentorship empowers students to navigate these critical milestones with confidence, significantly improving their prospects of securing meaningful employment.
